Michael Scott Acosta, an 18-year-old student accused of a series of sexual assaults around the Dunn Loring Metro Station last fall, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Fairfax County General District Court Monday, Jan. 30.
Acosta, of Merrifield, is expected to plead guilty to one count of rape and one count of abduction with intent to defile while two other charges of sexual assault are expected to be set aside in exchange for his guilty plea.
Acosta, represented by Daniel Lopez, faces the possibility of life in prison.
His plea hearing is currently scheduled for late March in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
