Blair Deckard, daughter of Cliff and Susan Deckard of Oakton, is studying with the Institute for the International Education of Students in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Deckard, a 2003 graduate of James Madison High School, is a junior international studies and economics double major at Denison University.

Paisley Callow, a 2001 James Madison High School valedictorian, graduated magna cum laude from UCLA's School of Arts and Architecture in December. Paisley, a studio art major, was further honored by having her senior video, "Just A Girl Under Sharia Law," selected to premiere at the High Falls Film Festival in New York last month.

Cadet Francis (Frank) T. Brown III was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Brown, a human geography major, is the son of Tom and Barbara Brown of Vienna. He is a 2001 graduate of George C. Marshall High School.

The following Virginia Military Institute cadets are among the 444 cadets who were recently named to the deans' list for the first semester, 2005-06 academic session. To be eligible for the dean's list, a cadet must have a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C.

Joseph D. Amatetti, a senior from Vienna, is majoring in civil engineering. Cadet Amatetti's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John F. Amatetti. Dennis J. Crump, a senior from Oakton, is majoring in electrical engineering. Cadet Crump's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John L. Crump. Levon J. Fiore, a sophomore from Vienna, is majoring in mechanical engineering. Cadet Fiore's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William A. Fiore. Jonathan J. Kim, a sophomore from Vienna, is majoring in economics and business. Cadet Kim's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ui Sik Kim. Daniel R. Rogers, senior from Vienna, is majoring in mechanical engineering. Cadet Rogers's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Mark W. Rogers.

Michelle Rae Moore of Vienna is an undergraduate who achieved first honors at Georgetown University. Only 495 students were recognised with honors out of the 6,700 presently studying at Georgetown.

The following undergraduates from Vienna achieved second honors for academic accomplishments during the fall 2005 semester at Georgetown. These local students have achieved a grade point average of 3.7 or better on a 4.0 scale: Catherine Barrett Miossi, Siir Kilkis, Sara Sari Dajani, Allison Elizabeth Kent, Ji-Hye Park, Banafsheh Fathieh.

Khadijeh Zarafshar and Gaetano A Mina of Vienna have been named to the Georgetown University's dean's list. Student that are named to the dean's list have achieved a grade point average of 3.7 or better of a 4.0 scale.

The following students from Vienna area have been named to the dean's list at Marymount University for the fall semester and '05-'06 academic school year: Rebecca Byrd, Christopher Drinkuth, Phillip Lester, Maria Loyola, Valerie Nelson.
