Herndon High School students "stomped" their hearts out before a sold-out audience during the school's annual Stomp Fest held Feb. 18.
Vying for trophies and cash prizes, more than 175 steppers, representing eight area high schools participated in the judged event. Judges assessed the teams on their abilities including precision, the complexity of routines, creativity, articulation and enthusiasm.
Herndon's all girls squad "Shades of You" and its all boys squad "Cold Beast" kicked off the two-hour event with a special exhibition. Garfield Senior High School took first place, North Stafford High School was awarded second place and Osbourn High School followed with third. Other high schools competing included Hayfield, C.D. Hylton, McLean, Potomac Falls and South Lakes.
