DivorceCare, a support group for people who are experiencing separation and/or divorce, will take place at Christian Fellowship Church, 21673 Baumeade Circle, Ashburn. The program is non-denominational, but uses biblical teaching as its foundation. The weekly meetings feature video tapes with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics followed by group discussion. Internationally renowned for its innovative, entertaining presentation, this Bible adventure seminar utilizes interactive learning techniques to help people absorb Ñ and remember Ñ the key characters, geography and major themes of the entire Old Testament.
Sanctuary floors are turned into maps as people sit or stand near Bible lands and waters. Hand movements and group recitations frequently punctuate the vibrant teaching. The youth of Sterling United Methodist Church are collecting pennies to support Methodist Church relief efforts for the hurricanes this year. The money collected will donated to a youth group in Mississippi or Louisiana whose church was destroyed by the hurricanes. The goal is 500,000 pennies by Jan. 28.
