Air Force Airman Michael E. Templer, son of Eddie and Bo-Yeon Templer of Vienna, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Templer is a 2003 graduate of McLean High School.

Cadet Francis Thomas (Frank) Brown III, son of Tom and Barbara Brown of Vienna, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the U.S. Military Academy. To earn this honor, a cadet must maintain a 3.0 average in all courses. During June, Brown will be training as a platoon leader with B Company, 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, Ft. Bragg, N.C., in support of the 82nd Airborne Division. In July, he will train at the Northern Warfare Training Center at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, developing expertise for operating in demanding cold weather and mountain environments. In August he will return to West Point for his senior year. Brown graduated with an International Baccalaureate Diploma from George C. Marshall High School in 2001. He will graduate from West Point in 2007 and be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S Army.

David Wadley of Vienna, a history major and ROTC student at Wake Forest University in Salem, N.C., graduated magna cum laude with honors in history and was commissioned into active duty in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne in Ft. Campbell, Ky. Wadley is a 2002 International Baccalaureate graduate of George C. Marshall High School and the son of Jon and LaVonne Wadley of Vienna.

Army National Guard Capt. Kristin S. Dabbieri served as a member of a task force that consisted of transportation, maintenance and medical soldiers, who deployed to southern California to support efforts of the U.S. Border Patrol and to enhance the homeland defense mission. The task force was mostly comprised of soldiers of the 729th Brigade Support Battalion, 58th Brigade Combat Team from the Maryland Army National Guard. Dabbieri is an executive officer assigned in Reisterstown, Md. She has served in the military for more than five years. She resides in Alexandria. Her husband, Ryan, is the son of Peter Dabbieri of Redondo, Calif., and Dianne O'Donnel of Cynthia Lane, Vienna.

Navy Reserve Lt. Michael P. Cody has returned to the U.S. after being deployed to an overseas forward-operating location in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. The lieutenant is a public affairs officer with five years of military service. He is the son of William and Nancy Cody of Vienna. Cody graduated in 1981 from George C. Marshall High School.
