Sallie Dupier's hand-picked art focus group at Oakton Elementary made their own artistic contribution to the school this year, painting 11 murals depicting panthers — the school's mascot — outside the cafeteria. The 12 students, ranging from third to sixth grade, worked on the paintings for the last five months or so and put on the finishing touches last week.
This year, the art focus group has also designed the yearbook cover and made face masks to be hung around the school.
