Fitness and Fun. Exercise series for cancer survivors in treatment or in remission, led by a certified fitness instructor. Healing with Qi Gong — Evenings. Instructor Pauline Reid returns to facilitate this three-week series of healing Qi Gong, a holistic form of Chinese exercise or "moving meditation," that incorporates gentle movement, meditation and breathwork. Learning from Cancer — How to Create an Extraordinary Life. In this workshop participants will discover the value of connections and communication with others. Writings for Wellness: Transitioning into a New Season. Use the beauty of poetry and the healing power of writing to explore and express thoughts and emotions. Qi gong is an ancient and holistic form of Chinese exercise. Qi gong promotes energy and well-being, balances body, mind, emotions and spirit, and treats illness and pain by mobilizing the body's "qi" energy through slow meditative movements. In this four-week class, learn a few qi gong movements and meditative exercises. Carlos Durana, Ph.D., M.Ac., is an acupuncturist and a clinical psychologist, body therapist and writer researcher with a background in meditation, medical-spiritual qi gong, and stress management.
