Budget Info Meeting

<bt>Dranesville District Supervisor Joan DuBois will hold a town meeting on Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to noon, in the Colvin Run Elementary School cafeteria. The school is located at 1400 Trap Rd. in Vienna, just off Route 7 and Towlston Road. The meeting will feature presentations by Fairfax County staff and officials on proposed Fiscal Year 2007 budget updates on county services and projects in the Dranesville district. <sh>Paintings by McLean Artist

On Display at Spectrum Gallery

<bt>McLean resident and artist J. Lea Lansaw is opening a new show of paintings this week. Her work will be on display at Spectrum Gallery, located at 1132 29th St. in Georgetown, from March 14 - April 9. She will hold an opening reception on Saturday, March 25 from 6-9 p.m. at the gallery. <sh>Drug and Alcohol Prevention

Talk at Elementary School

<bt>Churchill Road Elementary School will be hosting a Drug and Alcohol Talk for elementary school parents on March 22 at 7 p.m. This program is being sponsored by the Safe Community Coalition and will present information about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse facing children, and how to communicate with children about this issue. Parents of 5th and 6th grade students at all elementary schools are invited. Churchill Road Elementary School is located at 7100 Churchill Road in McLean.

<sh>Great Falls Resident

To Host MS Fund-raiser

<bt>On Saturday, March 18, Great Falls resident Laura Lopez will be hosting a party to raise money for multiple sclerosis. Lopez is expecting more than 175 people to attend and would like to raise over $10,000. Instead of bringing wine, flowers or gifts, Lopez is encouraging guests to make a contribution to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society National Capital Chapter. In exchange for donations, Lopez will give guests "funny money" to play casino style games such as Craps, Texas Hold'em, Roulette and Black Jack. The event will also feature live music, food and drinks, and a visit from the Washington Redskins Hogettes.
