George Washington Celebration Photography Contest: Both amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit photographs of George Washington Birthday celebration events, both past and present. The Ceramic Guild’s Annual Juried Show is held in the Scope Gallery of the Torpedo Factory, 105 S. Union St., through April 2.

Fresco Buon Gusto and Up Close, concurrent photography exhibits at the Multiple Exposures Gallery of the Torpedo Factory, 105 S. Union St., run through April 2. Fresco Buon Gusto features Danny Conant’s photographs of 17th-century frescoes in Sicily, transformed into handmade frescoes. Colleen Spencer Hernderson’s photographs of botanicals create the exhibit Up Close.

The Potomac Craftsmen Fiber Gallery presents Dye Laughing, an exhibit which showcases fibers dyed, painted and colored with other techniques. The show runs through April 3 in Studio 18 of the Torpedo Factory, 105 S. Union St.

The All-Media Membership Show of the Art League Gallery is featured in Room 21 of the Torpedo Factory, 105 S. Union St. The show runs through April 3.

The Northern Virginia Community College presents a juried Student Fine Arts Exhibition, featuring works of NVCC students in fine arts courses. Media include charcoal, clay, ink, graphite, paint and mixed media. The exhibit opens will run through April 5. The show is free, and is on display at the Tyler Gallery, in the Tyler Building at 3001 N. Beauregard St., which is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Favorite Techniques are on display at the Enamelists Gallery as part of an all-members show through April 3 in Studio 28 of the Torpedo Factory, 105 S. Union St.

“A Golden Spring,” an exhibit of photography and mosaic featuring the work of Steven Halperson, Nina Tisara and Gene Sterud, runs at the Durant Center through April 27.

Size Places — Single File, a show by award-winning printmakers in Studio 325 of the Torpedo Factory, 105 S. Union St., through April 30.

“Glimpse into Paradise,” an art exhibit featuring the photography and painting of Judith Kovacsy, will be on display at River Farm, 7931 E Boulevard Drive, through May 15, with an opening reception March 24, 6-9 p.m.

Art at City Hall, a juried exhibition sponsored by The Art League, the Del Ray Artisans and the City of Alexandria is on display Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., through July 21.
