The Welcome Club of Northern Virginia invites community residents to join their monthly luncheon at the River Bend Country Club in Great Falls on Thursday, May 4. Equality Fairfax and Dulles Triangles are partnering to co-sponsor the annual Spring Dance on May 6 at the Holiday Inn Tyson’s Corner Hotel, 1960 Chain Bridge Road, McLean. Del. Vince Callahan and Sen. Janet Howell will provide a summary of the 2006 General Assembly session, provided it has ended at the May 9 meeting of the McLean Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE). Mothers First of Vienna/McLean is dedicated to supporting women who have chosen to alter their careers to raise their children at home. Friends of the Great Falls Library. A group of book-lovers and library users who support special programs for children and adults at the Great Falls Community Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike. The Analemma Society, through a cooperative agreement with Turner Farm Park, hosts a weekly public viewing of night skies at the observatory. Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) uncovers all that can be found in the universe as mothers. Mothers of children ages birth through kindergarten are invited to be encouraged in their role as a mom, wife and woman. Each meeting includes teaching based on Christian principles, breakfast, discussion time with other mothers and a craft. The children will be participating in the MOPPETS program.
