Jonathan F. Koch has graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. The graduate received a bachelor of science degree and was commissioned as a second lieutenant.
Grads will go on to serve as pilots, navigators, engineers, maintenance officers, professionals in various management and technical fields, and some attend medical or graduate school with special scholarships, while others go directly to non-rated Air Force-wide assignments. The officer is scheduled to attend undergraduate pilot training at Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus, Miss.
Koch received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He is the son of Brian and Mary Beth Koch of Braddock Ridge Drive, Centreville. The lieutenant is a 2002 graduate of Centreville High School, Clifton.
Army ROTC Cadet Michael E. Falk has received the George C. Marshall Award during an awards ceremony at the Marshall Center in Lexington. The award is named in the honor and legacy of General of the Army George C. Marshall, who served in World War II as the Army Chief of Staff and in the post-war era served as secretary of state and secretary of defense.
The award is presented annually to the most outstanding senior Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) cadets in military science studies and leadership values in each battalion at host universities or colleges. Top cadets participate in focus groups and round table discussions on the theme of the national security of the U.S. and the Army's security role in the international arena; and receive formal speeches from the highest echelons of the U.S. Army's leadership ranks.
The cadet is a student at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg. He is the son of Harvey A. and Lynn K. Falk of Springstone Drive, Clifton.
