Harvest dinner and silent auction, 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 7628 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, hosts a community harvest dinner with turkey, vegetables, dessert for $10 per person (only $5 for kids 12 and under). On Sunday, Nov. 12, the Northern Virginia Ethical Society will host Rabbi Arthur Blecher, who will speak on “The Seven Myths of American Judaism.” Arthur Blecher has been rabbi of Congregation Beth Chai in Washington since 1987. Praying with Icons: Windows on the Divine, a program directed by the Rev. John Runkle, R.A., curator of the National Cathedral, Washington, D.C. Explore the history, development, creation, and use of icons in prayer & worship.

Religious icons are aids to prayer & act as “windows on the divine.” This program includes conferences, time for personal prayer with several icons, group reflection, communal prayer, snacks and lunch. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Program is open to all. The suggested offering is $45 per person ($5 discount for seniors), and reservations are required.
