<sh>Man Shot in Columbia Pike Store

<bt>A 50-year-old man was shot inside a Columbia Pike supermarket Monday evening, police officials said.

Arlington police officers arrived at the Honduras Supermarket, located on the 3200 block of Columbia Pike, a little before 8 p.m. on Monday, and discovered a 50-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The motive for the shooting is unknown but police believe it may have occurred during an attempted robbery. Several other people were inside the supermarket when the suspect entered the store with a weapon. There is no indication that the victim did anything to provoke the shooting, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call the Arlington County Police Tip Line at 703-228-4242.
