The merchants of Franklin Farm Village shopping centers are hosting free trick-or-treating on Saturday, Oct. 28, rain or shine. Ghosts, goblins, witches and all children dressed in their Halloween costumes will receive candy and other goodies from participating merchants at Franklin Farm Village in Herndon from noon to 2 p.m. Franklin Farm Village is located at the intersection of Fairfax County Parkway and Franklin Farm Road. The center is anchored by Giant and Sears Appliance and Hardware.

Business and Professional Women of Greater Fairfax will host Dr. Irene Trowell-Harris, Maj. Gen. (Ret.), Director of the Center for Women Veterans at the Veterans Administration, speaking on “Life After the Military” at its monthly dinner meeting Monday, Nov. 13, 6:30-9 p.m., at Tysons Corner Embassy Suites, 8517 Leesburg Pike, Vienna.
