Remembering September 11

In 2003, Montgomery County memorialized the lives of 11 county residents who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with 11 benches bearing inscriptions that reflect the character of each person. The memorial is located in Courthouse Square Park in downtown Rockville. There is also a list of names of those lost in the tragedy, and on the morning of September 11, the names will be illuminated by a beam of light.
