Lansdowne Development Group, the developer of Lansdowne Town Center and Lansdowne on the Potomac, activated the first of two traffic signals Aug. 29, scheduled to open within Lansdowne this summer. Lansdowne Development Group, along with Supervisors Mick Staton (R-Sugarland) and Lori Waters (R-Broad Run), flipped the switch to activate the traffic signal located at the Belmont Ridge Road/Riverside Parkway intersection. The second traffic signal, located at the Lansdowne Boulevard/Riverside Parkway intersection, is scheduled to be operational by early September.

A major trade publication, Limousine & Chauffeured Transportation, recently named Reston Limousine, 45685 Elmwood Court, Dulles, to its Top 100 list in the internationally distributed magazine's annual survey of the country's largest fleet operators.

In addition, the company ranks 29th in the nation in operational size; and is among the top-10 largest shuttle bus fleets in the country.

Strides Beyond Educational Services LLC has expanded from its current location in Leesburg to its newest locations in Ashburn and Purcellville. Strides Beyond provides comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations as well as ADD/ADHD, Asperger Syndrome and learning style assessments. Staff and employees of Inova Loudoun Hospital teamed with the Loudoun County Corps of The Salvation Army to sponsor 50 children as part of The Salvation ArmyÕs national back to school ÒApple TreeÓ program, an extension of The Salvation ArmyÕs ÒAngle TreeÓ Christmas gift program, school supplies were collected for needy school-aged children who will be attending classes within Loudoun County in the coming school year.

With an average of $50 invested per child, Inova Loudoun HospitalÕs staff invested approximately $2,500 to better equip children as they prepare to return to the classroom.

Oatlands Plantation has launched new Web site with new features, including an on-line gift shop, an Oatlands photo gallery illustrating OatlandsÕ history, and a special Garden section highlighting flowers from the garden. Arlington-based IDI has completed the first phase of the fourth high-rise building at Leisure World of Virginia, Riverview, an 11-story building comprising 242 condominium homes. It is the last condominium building on the west side of the Leisure World site, and more than 80 percent of the available units were purchased before occupancy began.

Rondie and Liane Simpson of Ashburn have created the Fun Bus, fitness fun on wheels to service schools/child care centers and available for parties in the area.

The Fun Bus is a heated and air conditioned, mobile, full-sized, padded and carpeted school bus that brings the fun right to the school, child-care center, or home and never moves with the children on it.

The philosophy is to enhance learning going on inside the classroom and home, using a hands-on approach to fitness.

Moe's Southwest Grill opened its newest location at 24995 Riding Plaza, South Riding, Sept. 21. As part of its grand opening celebration, MoeÕs provided free child identification cards to customers with children Sept. 23 and present a donation check to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
