Imagination Stage, 4908 Auburn Ave, Bethesda, invites families to the first annual EDGEfest, featuring professional theatre productions from Russia, Northern Ireland, Canada and the United States, through Saturday, April 7. Families can see one performance, or spend several hours. They can come for one day, or come multiple days to see and discuss different performances. When families purchase a ticket to an EDGEfest performance, they are also invited to participate in the many festival activities scheduled throughout the day, including drama workshops, interactive discussions with theatre artists, open rehearsals and creation of a mobile with performer and mobile artist Kevin Reese. The Puppet Co. at Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo presents "Jack and the Beanstalk." A timely version of the classic children’s tale about the young lad who doesn’t know beans about trading, but still manages to climb his way to the top.
