<lst>Discovery Too, 7247 Woodmont Avenue, Bethesda, presents "Lest We Forget: Three Perspectives on Hurricane Katrina," Saturday, Aug. 25. 7-11 p.m. A special showing by three artists who witnessed the devastation first-hand: Carol Guzy - one of the world’s foremost photojournalists and recipient of three Pulitzer Prizes, Scotlund Haisley – painter and Executive Director of The Washington Animal Rescue League, Bill Manley – painter and Katrina evacuee. Proceeds of sales benefit The Washington Animal Rescue League’s two-year anniversary animal rescue mission to New Orleans on Aug. 26 of this year.

The 37th Annual Labor Day Art Show at Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo will take place in the historic Spanish Ballroom. The free event, sponsored by the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, will be held on Sept. 1, 2 and 3 from noon to 6 p.m. The show features the work of more than 200 artists—both adults and children—from the mid-Atlantic region. Many artists have a connection to the Park, either as students or teachers. The opening reception on Friday, Aug. 31, from 7-9 p.m. is open to the public, and many participating artists are expected to attend. The Park will also host an Open House in conjunction with the art show on Saturday, Sept. 1, from noon - 4 p.m. Call 301-634-2222.

The Dennis and Phillip Ratner Museum, 10001 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, will exhibit "Women’s Reflections" by the Women’s Caucus for the Arts, with work by 45 artists, Sept. 5-25. Watercolor Exhibit. This exhibit features watercolors by instructors and students of the Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd. Glen Echo. An exhibit by members of the Advanced Master Printing class will be presented through Aug. 31 by Photoworks. Look for images covering a variety of approaches to photography. Photoworks is a traditional and digital photography studio located in the Arcade building. Exhibit runs during regular gallery hours, which are Sundays and Wednesdays, 1-8 p.m. and at all times during day and evening classes. Student Art Show. The exhibit features works by students of all ages, created in classes at Glen Echo Park. Works may include painting, drawing, ceramics, glass, sculpture, jewelry and more. Regular exhibit hours are from noon to 6 p.m. The show runs through Sept. 3 in the Popcorn Gallery, Arcade Building at Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo. Admission is free.

The Art Glass Center at Glen Echo exhibits continually in the Art Glass Center Gallery. These exhibits feature the work of resident artists Diane Cab, Christine Hekimian, Bev and Zayde Sleph, and Bobbi Vischi. Sculpture, vessels, functional art, and jewelry are also for sale. All exhibited work is made at the Art Glass Center Studio. The Art Glass Center also produces other exhibits featuring resident artists, faculty, students and invited artists.
