Going Wild

Library Program highlights native species from Virginia's colonial era.

Kelly Rourke of the Wildlife Center of Virginia presented a program on Monday, Aug 13, at Pohick Regional Library. Rourke introduced participants to several native species that colonists encountered in Virginia 300 years ago. The Wildlife Center of Virginia cares for and rehabilitates wild animals that have been hurt or abandoned. About 50 percent of the animals that the center takes in are able to return to the wild.
