Fatal Crash on Van Dorn

A 36-year-old Arlington man died last weekend after his 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer veered off of Van Dorn Street near the intersection with South Pickett Street. The Alexandria Police Department identified the man as Terry Lemont McDonald. The city’s Crash Reconstruction Team is still investigating the crash, and toxicology reports won’t be available for several months.

"At this time, we don’t think that alcohol was a factor but we are still investigating," said Lt. Jamie Bartlett, a spokesman for the Alexandria Police Department. "It could have been anything."

Lewis Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements for McDonald, said that he is survived by a son, Darrian McWhorter; his mother, Theresa McDonald; his father, Alfred Carter; five brothers; seven sisters; and a host of other relatives. Friends are invited to call at Antioch Church of Christ at 1120 Queen St. in Alexandria on Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Internment will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Alexandria.
