Playing Pokemon
For beginners or veterans, the Pokemon League is offers a chance for area children to get together and play the game. The next meeting takes place on Friday, Aug. 31, 3 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Community Library, 101 Maple Ave. E. Vienna. The league is for children, ages 5-18, and meets every Friday. Colonial Clothing
From Saturday, Sept. 1 through Wednesday, Sept. 5, 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., visit the Sully Historic Site to see what fashion was common during colonial times. An exhibit by local collector and educator Mary Doering, a variety of clothing from the time will be on display. Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors.
Along the Potomac
Get a breath of fresh air with the family as Potomac River Sightseeing Cruises run from Saturday, Sept. 1 through Tuesday, Oct. 16. This forty-minute cruise runs along the Potomac with waterside views of Mount Vernon. Tickets may be purchased at Mount Vernon’s main gate, or aboard the boat.
