Schools Prepare as Summer Winds Down

Lake Braddock Secondary School will continue to integrate its new classroom technology into instruction this year. The technology was added during the school’s massive renovation, which the school is celebration the completion of, Tuesday, Sept. 18. Each classroom has ceiling-mounted digital light processing projectors, flex cams that enable teachers to illustrate resources and wireless technology that transforms an ordinary whiteboard into an interactive whiteboard, said Vicki Emery, a school spokesperson, via e-mail to the Connection. The school will updates its overall goals for the year, throughout the year. Emery said the school’s goals will mirror the countywide goals that focus on academic achievement, essential life skills and responsibility to the community.

Robinson Secondary is adding Chinese language programs to the curriculum at both the middle and high school levels in 2007-08.

The middle school has added an advanced drama class, and the middle school will have a packed schedule of after-school activities for the countywide after-school program at middle schools, implemented last year.

Robinson will be going through an accreditation review from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Dec. 4-5. The school also welcomes a new 12th-grade subschool principal, Terrence Yarborough, this year.

"We are excited to open our doors on Sept. 4 for another successful year at Robinson," said Rick Mondloch, associate principal, via e-mail to the Connection.
