Lola’s Place, an infant/toddler Montessori environment is scheduled to open in January. Ten Moe’s Southwest Grills are banding together with Operation Pinecone this holiday season to send holiday care packages to our troops serving overseas. The 10 locations, including in Leesburg, Ashburn and South Riding, will be collecting care package items such as compact discs, magazines, toiletries and individually wrapped snacks, along with monetary donations. Additionally, Moe's is for volunteers to lend a hand in assembling the care packages. From 9 a.m, to noon, Dec. 15 at the Moe’s in Chantilly, Moe’s will be hosting packing parties.

Local area vendors are invited to the 2007 Loudoun County Procurement's Buyer/Seller Information Exchange Sessions. The next session is Friday, Dec. 21, 2 p.m., in the Lovettsville Room on the first floor of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St., S.E., in Leesburg. The informal session is open to all vendors to discuss the county's processes, upcoming contracts and any vendor questions or concerns. The Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association (LCVA) is looking for individuals to serve three-year terms on its board of directors, from July 1, 2008-June 30, 2011, with a transition period beginning in April 2008. Resumes must be received by Tuesday, Jan. 15. The new board of directors will be elected at the LCVA Annual Meeting and Tourism Awards Luncheon in March 2008.

Anyone interested in serving on the board should submit a resume outlining their business/professional career, including any tourism-related experience. Special business skills such as good communication skills, community involvement, etc. Three business references should accompany the resume along with a response to the statement: "My service on the LCVA Board of Directors will help the LCVA and tourism in Loudoun County because …." This response should be no longer than one double-spaced, typed page.

Winchester Homes was awarded six Monument Awards, including for The Spencer, Brambleton, for outstanding new home design features, land planning and single-family home models by the Maryland and Virginia Building Industry Associations. The Monument Awards are one the regions finest building industry awards. The winners were chosen from 240 entries submitted this year.

Best Western had a special "four-wheeled" guest come visit its newest hotel in the area, the Best Western Dulles Airport. An official NASCAR promotion street car greeted staff and VIP guests. The Best Western Inn Dulles, just minutes north on Route 28 from Washington Dulles International Airport, opened its doors last month.

Vein Clinics of America (VCA) has opened its 28th center in Sterling. The new clinic is located at 14 Pidgeon Hill Drive, Suite 260. For more than 25 years, VCA has specialized in all aspects of vein disease, from spider veins, to large ropelike varicose veins, to leg ulcers.

Vapiano has opened at the Dulles Town Center, 21100 Dulles Town Circle, Dulles, adding a third restaurant to its roster in North America.

The Washington Group of Northwestern Financial Services Network hired Dario A. Campolattaro as a member of the financial representative team operating from the Company's Leesburg office. Campolattaro is a veteran of the health insurance industry, having begun his career with Mid-Atlantic Medical Services Inc. in 1993.
