Russ Fuhrman, executive project manager, Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project, was awarded the 2007 Golden Beaver Award by the heavy engineering construction industry during their recent 52nd Annual Awards Dinner in Los Angeles, Calif.

Founded in 1955, the Beavers organization consists of construction companies and individuals who promote the heavy engineering construction industry in the areas of management, supervision, engineering, service and supply. It is considered by many the industry's equivalent to the Oscars, according the Project's announcement of the award.

A senior vice president with Parsons Brinckerhoff, Fuhrman serves as the executive project manager for Potomac Crossing Consultants, general engineering consultants for the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project. Prior to joining the WWB Bridge Project, Fuhrman served 32 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, working on major infrastructure projects throughout the world.

Fuhrman was honored with the award in the engineering category, according to the announcement. Traditionally, fellow members of the Beaver organization nominate individuals who have shown excellence in their career and/or through significant accomplishments.
