The school system has scheduled community input meetings to establish attendance boundaries for several schools. * Forest Grove/Rolling Ridge elementary schools, Sterling: Wednesday, Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m., at Rolling Ridge Elementary, 500 E. Frederick Drive, Sterling; Thursday, Feb. 22, 6:30 p.m. at Forest Grove Elementary, 46245 Forest Grove Drive, Sterling.

* Middle school to be named, (MS-5), in the Dulles area: Tuesday, Feb. 6, 6:30 p.m., at Mercer Middle, 42149 Greenstone Drive, Aldie; Wednesday, Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m., at Freedom High, 25450 Riding Center Drive, South Riding.

Potomac Falls High School will host "Symphony of Design," a winter guard and drumline competition, Saturday, Feb. 10, from 2-10 p.m., at the school, 46400 Algonkian Parkway, Sterling. Includes participants from across the mid-Atlantic region. Tickets for the competition will be sold at the door for $10 adult and $7 for children 12 and under.

The program will begin with the regional drumline teams followed by the winter guard competition. More information about winter guard and the schedule for this event can be found at the AIA Web site www.atlanticindoor.org.

Freedom High School will hold open gyms on Monday nights in February, from 8:30-10 p.m. Basketball and volleyball pickup games will be organized in the main and auxiliary gyms, and the weight room will be open for workouts.

Must be at least 18 years old, no child care will be provided. Participants must sign a waiver upon arrival. Dates include Feb. 19 and 26. The school is located at 25450 Riding Center Drive, South Riding. Call Freedom's Wellness Committee at 703-957-4300.

On Saturday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., the Sanders Corner PTA will hold its 12th annual Winterfest Carnival, featuring games for children of all ages with prizes, moon bounces, a silent auction and raffle and great food. Visit http://cmsweb2.loudoun.k12.va.us/512968317378/site/default.asp.

Dominion High School's Band and Choral departments will be in their high-school district neighborhoods Saturday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, March 10, seeking donations to help fund their upcoming festivals, trips and other program needs.

Donations are tax deductible and receipts will be available.

The Allstate Foundation will be presenting a series of Safe Teen Driving programs at county schools. All presentations begin at 7 p.m. Parents and teens are encouraged to attend. Includes a presentation from the Sheriff's Office on new and existing driving laws, insurance education and a question-and-answer period.

Presentations are slated for Dominion High School, March 6; Freedom High School, March 8; Park View High, March 12; Broad Run High School, March 19 and Stone Bridge High School, April 12.

The Stone Bridge High School Student Activities Department is sponsoring the Loudoun Rewards Card, good for discounts at local businesses. Cost $20 at local businesses, and the card is good for one year, at many county businesses. Student activities will keep 50 percent of the profits of each card sold. The Broad Run High School Project Graduation Committee is selling raffle tickets. The cost of a ticket is $5, with a limit of 400 tickets available. One winner will receive $1,000. A Night at the Ridge, a fund-raiser for Eagle Ridge Middle School academic programs takes place, Saturday, March 10, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Includes a dinner with two seatings, 5:45-6:45 p.m. and 7-8 p.m., from the Original Steakhouse and Sports Theatre, silent auction, bucket raffle.

Activities, including music performances by students, dodgeball tournament, dessert/coffee café, children's games and face painting, cake walk, game room, scholastic book fair, science magic and student/staff talent show.

Admission: for dinner and activities, $20 adults, $15 students, seniors and children 4 and older, children under 4 free; general admission, excludes dinner, $10 adults, $5 for students, seniors and children 4 and older, children under 4 are free; talent show/dodgeball admission will include only entry to observe the talent show or dodgeball tournament for $3, one ticket is entry for one show. In recognition of student volunteerism, the Loudoun Volunteer Services (LVS) board has established scholarships for graduating seniors from each Loudoun County public and private high school and from the home-school community.

The scholarships recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the Loudoun County community through their volunteer efforts. Students should submit their scholarship applications to Loudoun Volunteer Services, MSC 03, 1 Harrison St., S.E., Leesburg, by the close of business May 1. Applications are available at each school, by visiting www.loudoun.gov/pio/student.htm or by calling 703-777-0113.

Golfers and sponsors are encouraged to Tee off for the Titans at the second annual Dominion Classic, to be held Wednesday, May 16, at Lowes Island Country Club.

All proceeds from the tournament, held in conjunction with ATLAS (Association of Titan Leaders Assisting Students), will go toward funding student activities at Dominion High School.
