<b>Grand Jury Indicts Solorzano</b>
A man accused of maliciously wounding another person in a fight in Chantilly has been indicted by the grand jury. He is Juan Solorzano, 30, of 6701 Chestnut Ave. in Falls Church.
According to a court document filed by Fairfax County Police Det. David Allen, on Sept. 22, police were called to the 4000 block of Royal Lytham Drive, in the Highland Oaks community, for a weapons violation.
"Upon Officer [J.] Tanner's arrival, he observed three men fighting and yelling at one another inside the residence," wrote Allen. "As he approached the residence, Tanner [allegedly] observed Juan Solorzano stab one of the victims repeatedly."
Police charged Solorzano with malicious wounding and, on Dec. 18, the grand jury indicted him. He's scheduled to enter a plea, Jan. 30, in Circuit Court.
<b>Police Look for Robber</b>
Fairfax County police are looking for the man who robbed a gift shop last week in the Centreville Square Shopping Center. The incident occurred last Friday, Dec. 29, around 6 p.m.
Police say the man appeared to be shopping in the Morning Glory Gifts store, but when the clerk rang up a purchase for him, he showed her a gun in his waistband and demanded money. The clerk, an 18-year-old Fairfax woman, complied, and he left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as white, about 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches and 150 pounds. He had a mustache and wore a baseball cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black sneakers.

<b>Free Carseat Inspections</b>
Certified technicians from the Sully District Police Station will perform free, child safety carseat inspections, Thursday, Jan. 11, and Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 5-8:30 p.m. each day, at the station, 4900 Stonecroft Blvd. in Chantilly. They’ll make sure the carseat is correct for the child’s age, height and weight, the child is securely placed in the seat, and the seat is properly installed in the vehicle.
No appointment is necessary. But residents should install the child safety seats themselves, so the technicians may properly inspect and make adjustments, as necessary. Call the Sully District Child Seat Information line at 703-814-7000, ext. 5140 to confirm dates and times.

<b>Correction</b>
According to his attorney, in addition to being charged with conducting an illegal gambling operation, on Dec. 4, Fairfax County police also charged Giancarlo Reyes, 26, of 9606 Smokewood Place in Fairfax, with possession of ecstasy, not cocaine.
<b>Meals on Wheels Needs Drivers</b>
The Fairfax Area Agency on Aging "Meals on Wheels" program is in immediate need of drivers to deliver meals, Monday through Friday, to senior adults living in Fairfax County. Volunteers who speak Vietnamese are also needed.
The job involves picking up meals at specified sites between 10:30 a.m.-noon and delivering them to seniors by 1 p.m. Drivers may choose to deliver meals on a daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly or substitute basis. <b>Role Models for Children</b>
Volunteers are needed throughout Northern Virginia to be positive role models for children who currently have an incarcerated parent. Mentors meet with children two hours per week. Weekly meetings are supplemented by monthly group recreational activities. The only qualification required is a desire to help a child in need.
