<sh>New Traffic Light at Colvin Run Road
<bt>A new traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Route 7, Colvin Run Road and Delta Glen Court. A right-in, right-out only affects the southbound approach.
Vehicles which need to access eastbound Leesburg Pike will be required to proceed to the signalized intersection at Colvin Run Road/Carpers Farm Road to the east. To alleviate any delays at this intersection the Virginia Department of Transportation has already removed a portion of the concrete median to help negotiate a tight turning radius, and will also increase the green light timing once the new traffic signal is installed.
Dranesville District Supervisor Joan DuBois held a meeting with the Great Falls Citizens Association, and residents of the Delta Glen neighborhood early last year to explain the changes of this traffic light. At the end of the meeting, all those in attendance were in favor of the installation.
<sh>2020 Vision Questionnaire
<bt>Members of the Great Falls Citizens Association 2020 Vision Project committee are currently putting together a community survey that will be sent to every household in Great Falls at the end of February. The committee invites interested citizens to come and be a part of the process by attending an upcoming "idea jam session" in the Great Falls Library community meeting room. Whoever shows up is welcome to join in, and pot luck contributions are welcome. Ad hoc teams may be formed around certain issues, or everyone may work together to assess the questionnaire and then form teams, or everyone may work together for the entire evening. All are welcome, and dropping by for part of the time is fine. The upcoming sessions will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 31, Wednesday, Feb. 7, and Monday, Feb. 12. For more information, contact Kathleen Murphy at 703-759-6509 or Michael Keeler at 703-929-8343, the co-chairs of the Great Falls Citizens Association Long-Range Planning committee.
