<sh>Club Hosts Health Care Session

<bt>On Thursday, Feb. 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Great Falls Library, the Great Falls Women's Club will be hosting an evening with guest speakers Jim and Beverly Luce of ANOVA Senior care, Diane Hoyer of Women Helping Women with Finances, and Michele H. Wright, Esq., of Michele H. Wright and Associates. Learn about the latest in health care, and the options and services available for seniors from Jim and Beverly Luce. Diane Hoyer will explore why women need to manage their finances and plan for future success. Michele Wright will discuss estate planning, retirement planning, wills and more. <sh>Blood Drive at Animal Hospital

<bt>The American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be at the Great Falls Animal Hospital on Thursday, March 1, beginning at 9 a.m. To register, call the hospital at 703-759-2330. Any healthy individual who is at least 17, and weighs at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Remember, you can help save a life by donating blood every 56 days.

<sh>Moonlit Winter Night Hike

<bt>On Thursday, Feb. 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a "Moonlit Winter Night Hike" in Riverbend Park. Adults and children 8 and up are welcome, and should meet at the Riverbend Park Nature Center. The night hike through the forest and meadow offers a search for owls and other wildlife. Afterwards warm up with cocoa. Reservations and advanced payment are required. Canceled if snowing. $4/person.

<sh>2020 Vision Questionnaire

<bt>Members of the Great Falls Citizens Association 2020 Vision Project committee are currently putting together a community survey that will be sent to every household in Great Falls at the end of February. The committee invites interested citizens to come and be a part of the process by attending an upcoming "idea jam session" in the Great Falls Library community meeting room. Whoever shows up is welcome to join in, and pot luck contributions are welcome. Ad hoc teams may be formed around certain issues, or everyone may work together to assess the questionnaire and then form teams, or everyone may work together for the entire evening. All are welcome, and dropping by for part of the time is fine. The upcoming sessions will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 31, Wednesday, Feb. 7, and Monday, Feb. 12. <sh>Great Falls Little League Spring Registration

<bt>Registration for the Great Falls Little League spring season is now open for players, managers, coaches and umpires. The regular registration period extends through Feb. 11. Late Registration extends through Feb. 20 and March 1 for T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Softball, on a space available basis. Opening Day is April 14. Register at www.GFLittleLeague.org.

<sh>Candidates Sought for Leadership Programs

<bt>Leadership Fairfax Inc., a Vienna-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to developing leaders in Northern Virginia, is seeking candidates for two programs — the Leadership Fairfax Signature Program and the Emerging Leaders Institute. Interested candidates can attend a recruiting preview to learn more. Upcoming recruiting preview dates, times and locations are as follows:

* Tuesday, March 27 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Tower Club, 8000 Towers Crescent Drive, Suite 1700, Vienna;

* Wednesday, April 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Inova Fairfax Hospital, 3300 Gallows Road, Falls Church; and

* Tuesday, April 17 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, 1763 Fountain Drive, Reston.

The programs are open to individuals who live or work in Northern Virginia. Leadership Fairfax selects participants each year from the business, government, education and nonprofit sectors of Northern Virginia. The application deadline for both programs is May 1.
