Slaters Lane is scheduled to close "on or about July 13" until late November due to construction on the new Monroe Avenue bridge, according to Bruce McCloud, spokesperson for Potomac Yard Land Development.
During that period a slip ramp will be open onto Route 1. The western span of the new bridge is scheduled to open in November. It will carry three lanes of traffic until the entire span is complete. The new Monroe Avenue bridge is part of the overall Potomac Yard project. It is being funded in part by Potomac Yard Development, the combined company of Pulte and Centex homes.
