Community Guide

Dear Reader:

This special guide is intended to convey a sense of community for those living in the eastern portion of Loudoun County as well as provide practical what-to-do and where-to-go information.

The Connection Newspapers has three editions covering this portion of the county: Ashburn, which serves the communities of Ashburn, Ashburn Farms, Ashburn Village, Belmont and Lansdowne; Cascades, serving the communities of Cascades, Countryside, Potomac Falls, Lowes Island and Sterling; and South Riding, which serves the communities of South Riding, Stone Ridge, Brambleton, Broadlands and Arcola.

This directory of area organizations and services also includes a bit of local history. The guide details how local government works and provides basic information on the school system, as well as details on recreation, parks and places of worship. Phone numbers to get more information about any service or issue are also offered. Please visit our Web site, www.connectionnewspapers.com, for additional listings unable to fit in this publication.

While the guide is meant to be all encompassing, if anyone was missed from our listings, please let us know so we can be sure to include the information in next year's guide. The Connection would like to acknowledge the work of interns Brian Andrew and Abraham Koné who researched information, checked facts and collected data for this Newcomers & Community Guide.

In addition, we would like to thank the production staff and its interns for their graphic and design support.
