Gallery Two at 222 presents "Back from France," an exhibit of paintings by three local artists who recently returned from a week-long painting workshop in France where they studied with acclaimed artist Maggie Siner. Twenty area artists will showcase their work at Gallery 222, 222 South King St., Leesburg, through July 27. Also during July’s First Friday, the gallery will also host an evening of poetry and song featuring previews of upcoming area poetry and drama performances from the Leesburg Poetry Series and the Not Just Shakespeare troupe. <lst>Oatlands Historic House and Gardens, a National Trust Historic Site, will hold its annual "Four Seasons of Oatlands" art show and sale from through Aug. 19. The sale benefits Oatlands. The show is located in the historic Carriage House on the property. The art show and gift shop are open Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sundays, 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Oatlands is located six miles south of Leesburg on U.S. Route 15. Selected paintings from the county's art collection are on display in the first floor gallery of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St., Leesburg, through August. The special exhibit, "My Favorites," is a handpicked display of artwork from the county's permanent art collection, chosen by members of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and department heads.

<lst>Artists living within a 75-mile radius of Leesburg are invited to submit original artwork to the sixth annual "Something Hot" juried exhibition hosted by Gallery 222, 222 South King St., Leesburg. Artists may submit two pieces of original artwork for a $25 fee. Artwork will be accepted at the gallery Saturday, July 28, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The exhibit will be juried by Danni Dawson, who will provide a critique beginning at 7 p.m. Work that is selected will be displayed in Gallery 222 Aug. 3-31, and an opening reception will be held Friday, Aug. 3, from 6-9 p.m.

Leesburg Crossroads "Fall into the Arts" committee invites all artists, in any fine art media, to submit work for a juried art exhibit at Leesburg’s fifth annual 2007 Fall into the Arts Festival, Saturday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., in historic downtown Leesburg.

A jury will choose one piece of artwork, valued up to $600, for the Town of Leesburg’s permanent art collection in the Town Hall. Leesburg Crossroads will sponsor the purchase. The jury will also award other merit awards including a Digital Arts award.
