Laura Ratcliffe Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy. 6:30 p.m. at the Dolley Madison Library Meeting Room, McLean. The chapter is named after Laura Ratcliffe, acknowledged spy during the War Between The States. She specifically provided military intelligence to General J.E.B. Stuart and Colonel John Singleton Mosby. Laura lived in the Frying Pan area of Fairfax County, later renamed Floris, and is buried in a small family cemetery bordering Centreville Road in Herndon. The public is welcome.
