Fourth of July Events Volunteers Needed

In preparation for the annual 4th of July Great Falls hometown celebration, Great Falls Friends is seeking volunteers. Nearly 50 volunteers are needed to assist with the event, which will be held Wednesday, July 4, in the Great Falls Village Center. Most shifts are approximately one hour and run throughout the day. Festivities include a 5K walk/run, a baby parade, an Independence Day parade, games, food and activities for adults and children. Interested volunteers should contact Heidi Hommel at heidihommel@mris.com or at 703-757-0101. In addition, this year’s parade floats, group participants and large vehicles should register their intent to participate in order to facilitate parade logistics. To register or get more information, contact or visit the Great Falls Library at 703-757-8560, 9830 Georgetown Pike.
