Reston-based Access National Bank announced that Chuck Wortman has joined Access National Bank as a Senior Commercial Lender in Government Contract and Technology Lending. In his role, Wortman will provide the leadership to continue growing Access National’s market share. Wortman, has had a 27-year banking career with several Washington area community banks. He is a lifetime resident of Fairfax County and is actively involved with numerous local community organizations. A 2001 graduate of Leadership Fairfax Inc., Wortman currently serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors of Fellowship Square Foundation, Inc. and is a member of the Executive Committee of Reston Interfaith Neighborhood Giving. He is also on the Board of Directors of Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area and the Elderly Housing Commission-Herndon Harbor Housing.

Reston resident Christopher Whytal has joined LeapFrog Solutions Inc. of Fairfax, a full-service marketing communications and public relations agency, as an art director. Whytal comes to LFS from Siteworx Inc. of Reston, where he was a senior Web designer. Whytal holds a B.F.A. with concentrations in graphic design and photography from Radford University.

Reston-based Access National Bank announced that John D. Yaremchuk has joined the bank as Executive Vice President and Market Manager. In the role, he will provide the leadership to continue growing Access National’s market share.

Yaremchuk brings 29 years of leadership experience in the banking industry. He is a 1977 graduate of George Mason University. He and his wife Chris and their daughter have recently relocated to Oakton.

Joseph Laniak has joined Access National Bank as a private banker. He has served as a member of the Ballston Partnership, the Arlington Hispanic Committee and several area Chambers of Commerce in Maryland and Virginia. He has also mentored and tutored Arlington County Public School students through a business partnership.

Laniak is a lifetime resident of the D.C. area and a Villanova University graduate. He is a member of the Bishop O’Connell High School Athletic Hall of Fame as well as a former college and professional baseball player. He and his family reside in Vienna.

Reston-based Access National Bank announced the opening of its newest banking center in Leesburg located at 300 Fort Evans Road NE, Suite 103, Leesburg. The opening of the Leesburg Banking Center marks the bank’s fourth regional office designed to serve small and medium-sized businesses and professionals. The center’s banking team is lead by Jona Payne and Virginia Rae.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has submitted a proposal to compete for the U.S. Air Force’s Global Positioning System (GPS) Next Generation Control Segment (OCX) contract. The Northrop Grumman Team OCX offers an innovative, low-risk solution that partners an experienced industry team with the government to modernize GPS command and control (C2) and to enable effects-based operations. The OCX modernization effort will provide mission enterprise control support for the nation’s existing GPS Block II and future Block III satellites.
