Man Charged with Robbery, Abduction

Fairfax County police have arrested a 30-year-old Springfield man in connection with a robbery last week in Chantilly. He is Robert F. Price of 5750 Backlick Road, No. 202.

Authorities are also looking for two other men believed to have been involved in the crime. The incident occurred last Friday, June 22, at the Prime Mart in the 4300 block of Chantilly Shopping Center.

POLICE SAY two masked men entered the store just after 6 a.m., while a third man waited outside in a vehicle. The clerk, a 51-year-old Herndon man, was alone in the store, and the suspects overpowered him and demanded money. He was not seriously injured.

The suspects then fled after taking an undisclosed amount of cash, plus both store and personal items. They escaped in a vehicle driven by the third suspect.

Police were called, and alert officers responding to the scene noticed a man nearby matching the description of one of the suspects. That man, reportedly identified as Price, was charged with robbery and abduction with the intent to extort money. He was taken to the Adult Detention Center and held without bond. He has a Sept. 4 court date.

The two remaining suspects were described as black, approximately 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches and weighing between 160-190 pounds. One man wore a brown T-shirt and black pants. The other wore dark clothing.

The investigation is ongoing, so anyone with information about this incident or the suspects is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477 or police at 703-691-2131.
