Obit: Norris Cleveland Dockins

Norris Cleveland Dockins, 92, of Anderson, S.C., widower of the late Sarah Dockins, died Monday, May 21 at his residence. Born June 16, 1914 in Clayton, Ga., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Martha Ledford Dockins. He is survived by two nieces, Jean Willingham of Anderson and Rita Melton of Indian Shores, Fla. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and J.C. Dockins, and a sister, Genelia Dockins Ivester. He was a 20-year veteran of the Air Force Special Services Unit and later the Defense Intelligence Agency. He has been affiliated with the Masonic Order since 1959 and with the Shriners since 1965. He was Past Master and life member of Henry Knox Field Lodge # 349 in Alexandria, where he served as Secretary for 24 years. He was Past Master of Fort Hunt Daytime Lodge # 353 in Mount Vernon. He joined the Scottish Rite in 1959 becoming a 33rd Degree Mason in 1985. He is a life member and past Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection of the Alexandria Scottish Rite Bodies. Graveside services with Scottish Rites will be held at New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, S.C.
