Founded by Marga Fripp, Empowered Women International started as a series of empowerment workshops for women seeking success in the arts. The workshops turned into gallery shows and commissions for many of the program participants. EWI continues with its educational programs and lectures and also maintains an artists’ gallery "A Women’s Story Gallery" at 1307 King St. in Alexandria.
