<sh>Holiday Sale To Benefit

Abused Women and Children

<bt>The Great Falls Woman’s Club is selling the 2007 White House Holiday Ornament to benefit the Fairfax County Shelter for Abused Women and Children.

This ornament honors the first administration of President Grover Cleveland, the only president to marry in the White House. The central illustration is a tinted reproduction of an engraving that depicts the bride and groom taking their vows.

<sh>Girl Scout Troops

Organize in Great Falls

<bt>During the month of October, new Girl Scout troops were organized at Forestville, Great Falls and Colvin Run Elementary schools. While the troops are organized around schools, they are also open to any girl who wants to participate in Girl Scouts. There are currently places available in Troops for the following grades: first grade, second grade, third grade, fifth grade and seventh grade. Residents who have a daughter in grades K-12 who are interested in Girl Scouts may contact one of the local school coordinators.
