On Monday, Oct. 1, a Tech Ed teacher at Winston Churchill High School was flown by helicopter to a hospital after he injured himself in his classroom, said Kate Harrison, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Public Schools. Harrison did not identify the teacher by name.
The teacher severely injured his hand during an off-period as he prepared for his next class. The school implemented a Code Blue, during which students were not permitted in the hallways of the school in an effort to facilitate the rescue effort as the teacher was transported from his classroom to a helicopter that landed on a Churchill athletic field. There was no word on the teacher's condition when the Almanac went to press on Tuesday.
