The area’s first Mimi’s Café will open on Oct. 4, at 4 p.m., at 21015 Dulles Town Circle. Known for upscale, family dining and comfort food classics, the new restaurant marks the 117th Mimi’s Cafe in the nation.

Best Western now features a Dulles location. The Best Western Inn Dulles will open Oct. 8, just minutes north on route 28 from Washington Dulles International Airport. The hotel offer complimentary shuttle to Dulles Airport.

On Sept. 5, SkyLink USA, together with its sibling company, SkyLink Italy, provided a jointly managed solution to transport 10,000 wool blankets and more than 1,000 hygiene kits from Pisa, Italy, to Athens, Greece. They delivered by truck the emergency relief commodities to assist those who have been affected by the wildfires being fought by the government of Greece with support from the international community, including the United States. The United States Agency for International Development’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance awarded SkyLink the humanitarian relief cargo project.

The Hispanic Business Council of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Jackie Krick council chairwoman. Krick, a long-standing member of the Hispanic community, previously served as vice chair.

Krick is the president of ECU Communications LLC, a strategic marketing communications and consulting firm serving the federal government and private sector. Krick was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and has played an active role in the Hispanic community for more than 20 years.

Bowman Consulting has hired Jim Horner as chief financial officer and Jamie E. "Packie" Crown as principal. Horner brings more than 20 years of executive-level financial management experience and Crown brings more than 25 years of land use expertise, particularly with Loudoun County.

Goodman & Company recently hired Christopher C. Nokes, MBA, as business specialist in the Tysons Corner office. Nokes, a Sterling resident, is a graduate of Strayer University with both a bachelor of science and master of

business administration in accounting.
