Alexandria City Public Schools' upcoming back-to-school nights will provide parents with opportunities to learn about their children's classes and meet their teachers. Back-to-school nights for the 2007-08 school year are scheduled as follows:

The following Alexandria residents graduated from Virginia Tech this past Spring.

* Brian Earle received a Bachelor of Architecture degree (cum laude) in architecture from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.

* Devin Milton received a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude) in communication from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

* Stefanos Missailidis received a Bachelor of Science in Business degree (cum laude) in business information technology from the Pamplin College of Business.

* Virginia Morgan received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the College of Engineering.

* Jonathan Murphy received a Bachelor of Science degree in apparel, housing, and resource management from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

* William Taylor received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (cum laude) in art (fine arts) from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.

* Elizabeth Vaccarella received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

* Tracey Vaccarella received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Dennis J. Bayon of Alexandria was named to the dean's list at Boston University.

Daniel Funk, son of John and Nancy Funk of Alexandria, was the recipient of a $1,500 college scholarship awarded at Fort Belvoir through the Defense Commissary Agency. Daniel plans to attend Florida State University in the fall.

Chapleigh Cathline Denman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Denman of Alexandria, has graduated cum laude and received her bachelor of arts degree in communication studies from Vanderbilt University.

Jacquelyn Andrea Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Daniel Jones III of Alexandria, has graduated magna cum laude and received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology and Spanish from Vanderbilt University.

Jane Washington Wise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Augustine W. Wise of Alexandria, has graduated magna cum laude and received her bachelor of arts degree in anthropology and French from Vanderbilt University.

Ben Sprague, son of Steven and Brenda Sprague o Alexandria, was named to the dean’s list for the 2007 spring semester at Lynchburg College. Sprague, a graduate of Bishop Ireton High School, is a senior Economics and International Relations major.

Abigail L. Crispin, an Art and Visual Culture major from Alexandria, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and Honors from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine during the May 27 commencement exercises. Crispin graduated summa cum laude and during her time at Bates College made the dean’s list seven times, received the Geoffrey P. Charde Award of art history and was named a 2003 Dana Scholar. Crispin is a 2002 graduate of St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes’, and the daughter of William Crispin and Maureen Mahoney.

The following Alexandria students at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee have been named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2007 semester: Chapleigh Cathline Denman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Denman; Meredith Lane Ackerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen T. Ackerman; Jane Washington Wise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Augustine W. Wise; Jacquelyn Andrea Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Daniel Jones, III; Rachel Ann Sinaiko, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Alex Sinaiko; and William Max Meyers, son of Mr. And Mrs. Larry D. Meyers.

Carlos F. Artieda of Alexandria has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for the 2007 spring semester. Artieda is a senior majoring in business administration.

Robbie M. Baden, of Alexandria, has been named a Collegiate All-American Scholar. Baden, who attends the University of South Carolina, is the son of Sherry Gohl and Robert Baden of Spangdahlem Air Force Base, Germany and Alexandria, respectively. Robbie has also become recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, a National Leadership and Honors Organization at USC.

Colleen Rosania, of Alexandria, has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Rochester in New York. Rosania, a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering, is the daughter of Thomas Rosania and Catherine Kamery, and a graduate of Thomas H. Jefferson School for Science and Technology in Alexandria.

Christian Richard Millettt, of Alexandria, has received a doctor of medicine degree on June 1, at the 183rd commencement of Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia. Dr. Millett is the son of Jill and Richard Millett, also of Alexandria, and he will complete pre-med and dermatology residencies at the W. Johnson Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey. Christian graduated from the University of Virginia in 2002 with a bachelor of arts degree in music.

Hillary Klemmt, a resident of Alexandria has recently been named to the dean's list at Boston University for the Spring semester.
