The Gallick Corporation in Sterling won the National Association of the Remodeling Industry's 2008 Contractor of the Year for the Henry's Residence of Great Falls both division awards were won by The Gallick Corporation in National and Region II. The Henry's Residence of Great Falls, the project category was residential exterior.

Sterling-based JK Moving & Storage was designated as "the Official Moving Company of the Washington Nationals." Under the terms of the agreement, JK will move the team into its new facilities, a move that will culminate with a ceremonial delivery of home plate from RFK to the new ballpark in time for opening day. Earlier this year, JK shipped the team's gear from D.C. to Florida for spring training.

Reston Limousine ranked in first place on the recent Washington Business Journal list of the top 25 executive transportation service companies in the Washington, D.C.-metropolitan area. The company is owned by Leesburg resident Kristina Bouweiri. Since 2003, the company has more than doubled its revenues.
