Jubilee Christian Center has a revised schedule for August; no evening service on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and a free Family Movie Night is scheduled on Aug. 13, 7:15 p.m. Regular Wednesday evening service and family activities will resume on Aug. 27. Springfield Church of Christ Back-to-School Give-Away of Clothing and School Supplies, on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. While this event is geared toward helping students get ready for school, clothing is available for infants, toddlers, and adults as well. The Shalem Institute is offering free monthly prayer opportunities in Fairfax. The time together will be devoted to relaxation, the presentation of different prayer practices, silence, journal keeping and small group sharing. No experience is required and participants may attend regularly or drop in. Donations are accepted.
