Registration for the fall 2008 term of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) begins Aug. 20. OLLI is a nonprofit membership organization affiliated with George Mason University, providing academic courses and cultural opportunities for retirees and active older adults eastern Loudoun. The Little Mozart Academy will hold an open house Friday, Aug. 29, from 12-4 p.m., at the Woods Recreation Center, at 44020 Louisa Drive, in Ashburn. Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 East Church Road in Sterling, invites elementary-age children, grades first-fifth, to join its Sunday school format, the Workshop Rotation Model, or "WoRM." WoRM teaches children Bible stories and principles through participation in a rotating series of interactive learning stations. Each week children take part in a different activity employing drama, music, art, cooking, science, nature, puppetry or storytelling. The goal of the WoRM Sunday school format is to build up basic Bible knowledge through hands-on learning.

The Claude Moore Community Center, 46111 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling, is offering Handwriting without Tears summer camp for ages 3-6; Printing Success for ages 6-7; and Get Crackin with Cursive for ages 8 and up, Mondays-Fridays for two hours. Congregation Sha'are Shalom is offering preschoolers the opportunity to receive a Jewish education in a developmentally appropriate early childhood setting.
