Local Charity to Hold Hockey Game and Silent Auction

Put Cancer On Ice (PCOI) will hold its Second Annual Dave Fay Memorial Hockey game at 8:30 p.m. on July 19 at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington.

The charity will join with the Washington Capitals and the NHL Hockey Fights Cancer, by holding a silent auction for autographed NHL and Capitals team items. The 14 auction items include a Western Conference All-Stars jersey, a Nicklas Backstrom jersey, and a Limited Edition Young Guns (Ovechkin, Backstrom, Green and Semin) signed and framed poster, among others.

"We have received amazing support from the Capitals organization, the NHL and the entire community for this grassroots event," declared Rob Keaton, PCOI co-chair.

Fans are welcome to attend and cheer as the teams will compete for Lord Brown's Boot and support the fight against cancer. There is no admission fee, but donations are encouraged.

"What started out a few years ago as a casual, monthly pickup hockey game among Caps fans has developed into a charity that we all are excited to be a part of," explains Gavin Toner, another event co-chair,
