Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation (NWFCU Foundation) will hold a free seminar for college students on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at its Herndon office, located at 200 Spring Street. The seminar, titled Money Management 101, will help college students learn how to manage their money on a student budget, how to avoid credit card debt, the basics of checking products, ATM usage tips and fees and more.

Michael and Laura Pierce providers of non-medical. in-home care services to local families was recently honored by CK Franchising, Inc. for their performance as a Comfort Keepers franchise owner. Michael and Laura were recognized during the Celebration Dinner and Awards Ceremony during the Comfort Keepers Annual Conference held in Tucson, May 31.

Michelle Luiken, of Centreville, a representative for VITAS Innovative Hospice Care(r) of Northern Virginia, has been inducted as a member of VITAS' prestigious Leadership Council. As a VITAS representative, Luiken educates physicians and healthcare facility professionals about the benefits of hospice care for patients with life-limiting diagnoses. She joined VITAS in 2007 after serving in sales representative and account management positions for several pharmaceutical and healthcare supply companies. Luiken received a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown.
