Bikes for the World will be accepting donations of used bikes at Our Savior’s Way Lutheran Church, at the intersection of Waxpool Road and Claiborne Parkway, Sunday, June 8, from 1-4 p.m. The bikes will be shipped to underdeveloped countries to help people get to work and school. Usable bicycle spare parts and accessories, bike books and bike tools will also be accepted. A $10 per bike donation is also requested to defray the cost of overseas shipping. The Mosby Heritage Area Association is sponsoring a Mosby Ranger descendant reunion for the granddaughters and grandsons of Mosby Rangers, their servants and Colonel Mosby himself. This event will take place June 10, at Green Garden, the home of Ranger Dolly Richards, near Upperville. Farmers who produce local products are invited to participate in the Loudoun Farms Product Guide. To post in the guide, which informs consumers of the fresh food items available for purchase from local farms, farmers should contact Ann Higgins at 703-777-0426 or ann.higgins@loudoun.gov by June 10.

The Loudoun County affordable dwelling unit (ADU) program is accepting applications for 22 units available for adults age 55 and over at Potomac Green, an adult retirement planned community in Ashburn. Contact the ADU program of the Department of Family Services, 703-737-8043.

The 2008 edition of the Loudoun County "Guide to Services" is now available. Produced by the Office of Public Information, the guide is a comprehensive handbook of information about services provided by the county government, as well as services provided by other governmental and nongovernmental agencies. Copies of the guide are available at Loudoun County community centers, public libraries and at the front counters of county government departments and agencies.
