Kings Glen SCA Collects Funds for Carbon Monoxide Detectors

The 500-plus member student body at Kings Glen Elementary School has raised more than $200 to purchase carbon monoxide detectors for needy families in Fairfax County and on Monday, April 28, delivered the detectors to the Burke Fire and Rescue Station 14, on Old Burke Lake Road. In an effort to give back to the community, the school’s SCA initiated a drive to collect coins that would be used for the carbon monoxide detectors. During March, students contributed from their savings, gift money, allowances, and money earned from doing chores. Approximately 20 carbon monoxide detectors were purchased with money collected by the students.
