All middle- and high-school girls are invited to Girls Take Charge, a day-long, leadership workshop. The free event is Saturday, March 8, at Dominion High School, 21326 Augusta Drive, Sterling, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Girls will rotate through a series of team building stations. The Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) will be holding homeownership education classes cover topics including credit issues, personal finances, home inspections and the role of lenders and real estate agents. To become eligible for VHDA loans, borrowers must complete VHDA�s homeownership class. The 23rd Citizen�s Police Academy will begin Wednesday, March 19. The free sessions will be held one evening per week for 11 weeks and each session will be two hours. Sheriff�s Office personnel will conduct the classes, providing an overview of all the aspects of law enforcement. Members may also have the option of participating in a ride along.
