Earl Lloyd To Headline Charity Benefit

The Hopkins House will host "An Evening With Earl Lloyd and NBA Friends" on from 5:30-9 p.m. on May 18 at the Westin Hotel. The charity benefit will include Georgetown basketball coach John Thompson III and WJLA-TV Sportscaster Tim Brant.

Nicknamed "The Big Cat", Lloyd was the first African-American to play in the National Basketball Association, in the 1950-51 NBA season. T.C. Williams recently named its basketball court “Earl Lloyd Court.”
